China International Import Expo! More than 5,000 exhibits entering China for the first time

The Ministry of Commerce held a briefing for Chinese and foreign media. Fu Ziying, deputy and deputy director of the International Trade Negotiation Department of the Ministry of Commerce, introduced the opening ceremony of President Xi Jinping's attendance at the first China International Import Expo. Fu Ziying said that the China International Import Expo was personally proposed by the Chinese President and announced to the world. After intense preparations, the first China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th. Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony and hold related activities. At that time, politicians, business people and heads of relevant international organizations from about 150 countries and regions will be invited to attend.

Fu Ziying said that on November 4th, Xi Jinping and his wife will hold a welcome banquet. On the morning of November 5th, President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony, deliver a keynote speech, and visit the National Pavilion with Chinese and foreign leaders. During the Expo, President Xi Jinping will meet with heads of state and government of foreign countries.

Fu Ziying said that China International Import Expo is the world's first large-scale national-level exhibition with the theme of import, including exhibitions and forums. The exhibition is the National Trade and Investment Comprehensive Exhibition (referred to as the National Exhibition) and the Enterprise Business Exhibition (referred to as the Enterprise Exhibition). The forum is the Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum.

The National Exhibition is an important part of the China International Import Expo. A total of 81 booths are set up in 82 countries and 3 international organizations. The exhibition area is about 30,000 square meters. The participating countries will display the national image, economic and trade development achievements and characteristic advantages products.

In the national exhibition, 12 guest countries including Indonesia, Vietnam, Pakistan, South Africa, Egypt, Russia, Britain, Hungary, Germany, Canada, Brazil and Mexico have set up unique exhibition halls. As the host, we have established the China Pavilion, including the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan exhibition areas. With the new development concept of “innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing”, the China Pavilion will showcase the great achievements of China's reform and opening up, as well as the new opportunities that China's development and joint construction of the “Belt and Road” will bring to the world.

The company's exhibition is divided into 7 exhibition areas and an exhibition area of 270,000 square meters. More than 3,000 companies from more than 130 countries have signed up for the exhibition. Exhibitors will bring high-quality products with unique characteristics. Fu Ziying said that the Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum was organized by the opening ceremony and three parallel forums with the theme of “inspiring the new vitality of global trade and creating a new pattern of openness and win-win”.

The opening ceremony on the morning of November 5 was the opening ceremony of the China International Import Expo and the opening ceremony of the Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum. Each forum includes guest speech sessions and interactive discussion sessions, focusing on the key issues of current global economic and trade development.
